This is a sturdy, well designed gimbal with some things other gimbals don’t do, like 360° vortex mode, 300+g payload weight, focus/zoom wheel.
On the other hand, at the time of writing, the apps from the manufacturer are so poorly written as to be almost useless. Manual exposure/focus resets itself for no reason, slow motion doesn’t work, focus wheel doesn’t work at all on iOS in the ZYcami app, higher frame rates don’t work in either ZYcami or StaCam without a restart and even then they’re not captured properly.
Hoping with time these problems are fixed because it’s a promising bit of hardware. .

Well designed & comfortable in the hand gimbal. The beauty of this gimbal is that it can handle large phones. I have a Samsung N10 plus. There has been the odd occasion, when the gimbal went limp (not sure why) but after a quick restart it continue to work. I’ve used it for weddings, parties & walks in the parks. I’d say that it has worked perfectly 90% of the time. Going to be getting the Samsung 22 ultra, next week. We’ll see if it’ll work with that. So far I am very satisfied with it’s performance and handling.

The perfect phone gimbal. Great build quality, loaded with features. Strong motors that will take a phone case plus filters. I’m using an iPhone 12 Pro Max with a case and Variable ND filter and it handles the weight fine. Also tested with an anamorphic lens and filter and it worked fine. Awesome product!

I strongly suggest watching some YouTube clips and reading the instructions before powering up this great piece of videography equipment as improper use may damage the motors…. This truly is a great piece of equipment once you understand how it works 🤔and once You’ve developed some videography skills…..
It is robustly built and not something you can stick in your pocket.
I definitely suggest investing in a protective case.
Unless you’re prepared to do some learning about videography and how to use a gimbal your wasting your money you’ll get the desired effects by using your hand….
Videography is a great hobby there’s so much lovely Chinese crapola you can buy from Geff , gimbals, filters, lenses, microphones etc etc.
Good purchase worth the money.

I thought that I bought the best one but the battery backup is too poor.It gets hanged and no buttons work at that time .Not good for biggners like me as it’s not stable.Please I request AMAZON for the refund as I received 10 days ago.And the case and flash light were not in the box.Please I need an explanation from the seller. The return time was too short to understand the product.

Firstly this gimbal is Chinese so are OM 5 and others. But I had my eyes on DJI Pocket 2 for almost one year then I heard OM5 can’t handle big phones. Forget that it can’t handle small phones with lens.
Than I searched about smooth 5… And OH MY BOY… This is legit build to last product.
The suprise is I bought this in india for a lowest price of 14499. Yes no credit card was used in this process😌😌😌.
The packaging was as always amazon give to its prime customer clean.
Now lets come to why I bought this over new version M2S which can handle camera go pro and phones all in one gimbal. The cost is too high of smooth 5. It was also not available in India.
Pros of zhiyun smooth 5
1️⃣It has 360 degree of rotation in y axis.PAN MOVEMENT.VORTEX again full 360 degree. Tilt angle almost 330.
2️⃣A joystick which is pretty handy when you want to enleash your creativity.
3️⃣Powerful motors than DJI om5.
4️⃣The tripod build quality is as good as gimbal.
5️⃣It supports fast charging and FACE TRACKING. GLITCHY WITH ANDROID.
6️⃣Can work as power bank if you run out of battery on your device.
7️⃣IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH FLIMIC PRO. Go read about the best camera app in world for phones.
8️⃣Can attach other accessories like mic or external light as a screw thread is given.
9️⃣Can change speed of the motors in the gimbal. But with ZYCAMI APP only.

1️⃣0️⃣Can adjust focus just like APPLE CINEMATIC SHOTS.

Cons-
1️⃣Manual balancing.
But it is pretty easy to do. Trust me I do it like in 1 min.
2️⃣It doesn’t come with light as standard you have to buy another kit costing you almost 5k more.
3️⃣Better for phones like APPLE.
4️⃣I used it with iphone 12 it works different.
The quality is better with IPHONE. 4k at 60fps in iphone. Android lovers🥲
5️⃣Filmic pro app use with gimbal is paid.
