  1. CoCo’s Mom

He has an older set of Sennheiser that he has been using with the Yamaha electric piano. These seem to be upgraded. They are a tighter fit but not so tight that they bother him. I am presuming that they feel tighter to give you much better sound. He likes them. He may actually finish writing his song with these.

I own both HD400Pro and HD560S. HD400Pro is NOT the same as HD560S – the Pro version is more detailed and has better instrument separation. HD560S sounds a bit “smoothed” and “holistic” in comparison. HD560S’ stock cable is so-so (noisy), HD400Pro is supplied with two stock cables, I use the straight one and it’s excellent. Some people think 560S should be better than 400Pro, just because the model number is higher, but keep in mind that the Pro line models are marked differently. HD400Pro is totally worth extra $50 layout. Will be selling my 560S soon…

I’ve been heavy into headphones for the last 10 years. These are one of the best value headphones I have come across. I gave them a direct comparison to my Hifi HE-560’s and these were the clear winner in nearly every way. They provided an incredibly natural and open sound with plenty of bass for the normal user. They are incredibly comfortable and I can wear them for hours without issue. The clamp was a little heavy initially but loosened up to a really comfortable fit after a couple of hours.

I got these intending them as an upgrade from the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro. In the end I do really love both headphones almost equally. I think the Sennheiser do sound a little bit better, but they aren’t nearly as comfortable for long wear. It feels silly to say that, but it’s true. The band on the Sennheisers is really tight so even though they’re lighter than the Beyerdynamic headphones, they are less comfortable. Hopefully over time it’ll relax a bit because they sound great and I’d love to use them for longer stints of time.
