    * Sturdy
    * Sharp and Precise
    * Ergonomic Shape and Easy to use.
    * 5 trims in one charge
    * Usb type charging
    * Easy to clean

    Cons:
    * Charger not provided (only cable is provided)
    * Charging takes 8 hours.
    * Only 3 sizes (1mm, 5mm, 7mm)

    In the process of buying this trimmer, I went through a lot of web surfing. Here is what I found.

    Brand: No doubt Philips is the best brand for trimmer and shaver as of now.

    Why Trimmer, and not Shaver or Hybrid of both?
    This was one of the main doubts. Weather one should go for a trimmer, a shaver or a hybrid of both. Electric shavers does feel pretty smooth and leave less cuts on skin, but don’t give shaves as close a a razor. If one wants to trim, you’ll anyways need a trimmer. More over, you’ll have to wait for 8 hours of charging to get shaved which can easily be done by a razor too which I think is a big trade off. Hybrid devices can do both shaving and trimming but then they are very expensive with price of almost 4k and above. At this price you can buy both a trimmer and a shaver separately. A philips trimmer price varies from 800 to 2000. Also besides trimming, it can do a job close to shaving. Hence going with a trimmer is a better option.

    Why BT-1212?
    This is the lower end model among philips trimmers. The upper end model gave a better battery backup (45min/10hr charge, 60min/10hr charge, 60min/60 min charge) where the price went upto Rs 2000. But we don’t have to trim on a daily basis and one use won’t require more than 5-7 min of operation. So 60min of operation is not really a requirement for trimmer. Next talking about blades, I was using a philips trimmer before and it went on working for 5 years. So there is not such difference between titanium coated blades and normal self sharpening blades. My point is, the price difference between BT-1212 did not justified the value addition by battery backup and titanium blades since these not really make a difference in our trimming experience.

    Worst product from such a big brand. Battery life is pathetic . You need to decide one day in advance to trim your beard. Battery discharges with in a day when it is not in use . Even the cutter blades are not good . Please don’t go for it if you are looking for decent quality product.

    This is the worst item… Never buy it… I want to return it if can’t then I want to replace it….

    I bought this trimmer. But it’s charging time is too long and usage time is very less. But when I get this. I still can’t get much time to use it… It runs only 40 min. However, they are giving 3 hours use duration….

    I just use this on the minimum setting everyday. I dont miss shaving with razors at all. It lasts around 3 to 4 beard trims, before i need to attach it to my laptop and charge it again. I havent yet attached it to a powerbank to see if it will charge that way. Will that work?

    If you fed up with your regular trimmer then you should go for this product. This product is handy, stylish, easy to clean, battery efficient and smooth. Green looks best. This product is worth money.

    One of the few products to have got 1 star from me. I am using a Philips QT series trimmer since the last 1 year. I was now in an urgent need of a basic trimmer and I bought this BT series one from amazon because of faster delivery. My experience is summarized below:

    Pros:
    1. Handy, lightweight.
    2. Wireless trimmer at around Rs800-900 is value for money.
    3. Ergonomic to hold and use.
    4. Nice military green colour.
    5. Brand- Philips is known to make reliable products.
    6. Charging light- Thank God it was not omitted from this basic model.

    Cons:
    1. Missing accessories- I did not get charging cable/USB cable (OEM cable does matter to me) in the box. Nor did I get the cleaning brush (this doesnt matter at all).
    2. Box was sealed with cello tape (doesnt matter to me).
    3. I tried using it once now that my beard was enough for trimming. But when I opened the head for washing, I found much larger hairs inside. I suspect that I have been given a product returned by someone but not cleaned well before shipping again. See attached image. My hairs are tiny ones at the top but there are larger hairs as well in the centre.
    4. The button to start the trimmer has a weird lock that is not there in the QT series. Though this ensures that the trimmer doesnt start on its own in the luggage, the locking button is hard and makes it cumbersome to use the trimmer’s on/off button.
    5. The criss cross pattern between the blades and on-off switch catches trimmed hairs that have to be cleaned with a brush. I have kept a toothbrush head for this. Never had this issue with the QT series trimmer that was smooth in design.

    Neutral points:
    1. Long charging time. Not an issue. Please charge it well in advance.
    2. Only 30min battery time: Not an issue. We use it for 3-7mins in a single use. So can easily last 3-5 trimming sessions.
    3. Not possible to use while charging- You get what you pay for. Not an issue.

    Had I ordered this at my present place of residence, I would have returned it because of the cons mentioned above and would have ordered the basic model from the QT series range.
