Pathetic Installation by Daikin hired labourers….
Day1 post installation after using it for an hour in evening, the moment I turned off, water from indoor unit started flowing
This after the cheap installation laborers hired by Daikin , installed the indoor unit twice as first time they drilled hole and misaligned the indoor unit.
Second time, they drilled again nearby and you see in video water gushing out of indoor unit

The installation charges can work out a minimum of 25% of cost of AC, for a simple (behind 1 wall) installation, not involving any major work. So it was actually costlier than other better brand ACs. Sharing my experience of buying a Daikin split AC on 11th Mar’21 on Amazon, so that you don’t have to waste time.
Before purchase, nobody tells you about installation charges, “the mechanic will visit and tell you” (standard response). Once the ac has been delivered, and mechanic gives you the shocking estimate, you realize that you can’t even return the AC, as the sale is on “only replacement” basis.
Then you discover the true costs –
Extra copper pipe – rs.304/- per foot. ( pair of 10ft each included in kit)
Drainage pipe – rs. 36/- per foot.
Extra Electrical wire – Rs. 43/- per foot
These prices are 100% costlier than market price at your neighborhood shop. You will also discover that –
a. The drainage pipe, though mentioned on AMAZON website as covered under standard installation, is not provided and will be charged.
b. Most AC brands have only one power cable from Indoor unit (IDU) to power supply. unlike all other AC brands, Daikin AC has 2 electrical cables –
– one from Outdoor unit (ODU) to IDU. Only this is included in kit (max10ft.).
– The second cable from ODU to power supply is not provided in kit.
Then there are small tit-bit charges like white tape – you will be charged for full role though only one fourth may be used – and other items.
All in all, a 25% extra expense, of the AC price, makes it absolutely unattractive to buy. And probably that’s why the charges are hidden. Worst, even AMAZON is happy to hide the details. So next time, consider visiting a nearby AC retailer, who will give you better information, service and price.

Good product but installation cost additional Rs 3000 for labour, wire,stand ,plug. Dealers need to improve in providing quick solutions to issues during installation due to height in apartment. Had to postpone installation by one day since installing team didn’t have all tools on day one. But installing was done good even after delay. Have check the performance of AC now

Pros :
First I will tell about pros.
Noise :
Indoor unit Very less 36dB indoor . Tested by sound meter app.
Outdoor unit : Very less no vibration . Daikin u did a good design . My Voltas shouts like a monkey .
Size : compact and good looking .
Cooling : If u can adjust for first 30 minutes u can go with this AC .
After 1 hour u cant bear the cooling ( very good slow and steady cooling)
Energy efficiency :
Daikin AC power consumption test .
Set temperature : 18
Outdoor temperature : 30
Location : Tamilnadu.
0 hour : 770.5 units meter reading
1.5 hour : 771.5 units meter reading
For 1.5 hours : 1 unit (Actual)
Theoretical calculation:
8 PM to 8AM : 12 hours
12/1.5 hrs = 8 units
8 *2.5= 20 rupees per night 🥰
Cons:
No temperature indicator in indoor unit.
Cooling takes atleast 30 mins to cool initially .
Daikin is outsourcing agents . Official Daikin service agent for installation could be better.

A critical item missing from the box. PM2.5 filter accessory was missing. The AC package box was opened by Daikin technician only.
The product description in text as well as in the images on Amazon shows PM2.5 filtration function and the product manual also describes this function using provided additional PM 2.5 filter accessory which was to be attached to the existing net filters.
Informed Daikin about the missing part, they blamed Amazon and wanted me to contact seller. Now who will do this back and forth. Disappointed with Amazon for this short delivery.
Product looks good, value for money and cools down a 10-11 study room (no direct sunlight, only one window in east and middle floor in high-rise) in 10 mins to a comfortable temperature. Power consumption to be seen in coming months.
Have another 2.2 ton Daikin Inverter in drawing room and its working fine from past 4 years, no service required ever though its always on a higher side in terms of electrical consumption.
Amazon Customer –
I got the Daikin 0.8 ton ac installed yesterday and had to pay extra for standard installation parts like bracket or stand (to place the outer unit) and extra copper wire, hose to let water out. Had to shell out 3000 rupees extra to close the installation.
ac manufacturers must ensure that basic things that are needed to make an installation are part of the package box and not harass the customer to shell out extra money to buy this.
I would demand a refund of my expenses on the stand and the hose atleast from Dailkin/Amazon.

Went to buy a 0.8 ac in the market but didn’t find any 0.8 ton ac, they only had 1 ton ac which was priced at 30000-33000 of Daikin. Return back home and found 0.8 ton ac in amazon, booked at 22500.
After using for a week, I can definitely say it worth my money.

And installation was brilliant and hassle free.
Only the thing I didn’t like is daikin should have given a wall remote holder.
